chavivah!! I am crying here - this is such amazing news!! I am so proud of you, and the person that you have become. It was such an honour to finally meet you, you are an inspiration to so many people.
I wish you that you go Mechayil el Chayil, from strength to strength, may your Ahavat Hashem and Yirat Shamayim just grow and expand.
@Hadassah I am, as always, eternally grateful for your words and support. You know how to make a ger feel loved and welcomed :) And, of course, like I've been within Am Yisrael my whole life!
I know exactly what you mean when you say you know you're ready :) My conversion was Conservative. I believe all conversions are valid and since I am not planning on marrying or having more children, well, that's okay with me. I am however becoming WAY more observant - hair covering, mikveh, chabad services...and I kind of like it. I know given where I live an O conversion just wouldn't work right now so...I am happy where I am.
This is fantastic news though. I know how hard you've worked, how very Jewish you ARE and how this will truly bring your neshama ba bayit :)
I'm so excited for you! I got goosebumps when you were talking about it. :)
We don't have any similar process in Tibetan Buddhism but it is a path of growth and new things so I totally understand knowing when you're ready to take the next step, learn more, and grow.
At the risk of being a pessimist - make sure the RCA conversion is 100% accepted by the rabbanut in Israel! They've been sketchy about these things in the past.
I began this blog in April/May 2006 shortly after converting to Judaism under Reform auspices in Lincoln, Neb., as a way to discuss my journey. After all, the Jewish journey doesn't end with conversion, it's where it starts! This blog winds its way through a variety of cities -- Lincoln, Washington D.C., Chicago, Storrs (CT), Teaneck (NJ), and Denver -- as well as a variety of jobs. I trekked through Reform Judaism to Conservative to Orthodoxy while living in Chicago and converted Orthodox on January 1, 2010. I've been married and divorced since my Orthodox conversion and would proudly say I'm denominationally "Underconstructionist."
The purpose of this blog is to share my story, my struggles, my ups and my downs, and to connect with others about anything and everything Jewish and social media. Write me, talk to me, comment, and be well!

Just chanced upon your blog (via heateatreview?) and you're truly inspiring... looking forward to reading more (and really digging in!)

Congrats! You look like you've dropped some major poundage since you went kosher, too. B'hatzlachah on that too!
